Mission
The aim of the children’s liturgy at the Family Mass is to make the Gospel message more accessible to children. The children and their families are encouraged to take part in the mass through the readings, choir, and offertory procession. The liturgy is prepared by the Family Mass group and it is always presented at the Mass by the children.
Introduction / History
The Family Mass group was formed a number of years ago by a group of parishioners who felt that Sunday Mass needed to make a special outreach to children, to engage their interest and attention.
Parents and children find their attention and interest in the Mass stimulated by the special activities and participation of the families and the children through the Liturgy. Adults and members of the congregation find the children’s Communion Reflection highlights the Gospel message in a simple yet very effective way.

The season of Advent is a very special time for the Family Mass. The group have a crib which travels each day from house to house through the Parish leaving the Church on the First Sunday of Advent and finding its way back home for our Christmas Mass. This crib is very much loved by every family that participates and the children enjoy making special prayers at the crib.
Easter is another special time for the Family Mass. On Good Friday the children dramatise the Stations of the Cross in Holy Rosary church This is a very touching and real experience for children and for adults.
