Introduction / History
Mass in Irish in Greystones was revived in 1975 by An Doctúir Maedhbh Ní Ghallchobhair with great encouragement from the late Fr. Des O’Sullivan both of whom had a deep love of the Irish language and who felt that Gaeilge should have a place in the liturgy of the parish. They saw music as being central to the spiritual enhancement of the Mass and is de thoradh an dearcadh seo a tháinig an Cór Gaelach ar an saol – and so the Irish choir came into being.
