The Advent of Christmas… a Nostalgic Reflection!

From the perspective of a happily unorganised housewife!

NEW CHRISTIANS: We welcome Donncha, Louie, Kai & Raya, who will join our community through the waters of Baptism. May they continue to grow strong in body, mind and spirit in the years ahead.

CHRISTMAS MASS BOUQUET CARDS: will be available from the Parish Office from Mon. 19th Nov for €5.

TAÍZÉ PRAYER IN ADVENT: There will be Taízé Prayer service taking place in the Carmelite Monastery on each of the Friday’s of Advent at 8pm. The liturgy each week will be aimed at helping us to reflect on and prepare for the feast of the Nativity. All Welcome.

GIVE UP YOUR AULD SINS: The sacrament of Confession is available each Saturday evening from 5.30pm –6pm or by appointment during the week. We will have Reconciliation Service during Advent on Tuesday the 18th December in St. Anthony’s Church, Kilcoole at 8pm to help prepare us spiritually for the celebration of Christmas.

CHRISTMAS MASS TIMETABLE CARD AND CHRISTMAS OFFERING ENVELOPES: Watch out for the new colourful Christmas Offering envelopes which will be delivered to homes throughout the Parish over the coming days. The envelope contains the Christmas Mass Timetable.  If you are thinking of making a Christmas Offering to the Priests of the Parish,  please re-use the envelope and drop it back into the Parish Office or Church Collections. We are in the process of updating the Parish Database. If you do not receive an envelope to your home, there will be plenty available at the back of the church over the coming weeks. Thank you for your support.

CHARITY TAX REBATE: A big thank you for all who have supported the parish this past year. We are completing our Charity Tax Rebate forms at the moment. I would kindly ask those who did receive a CHY3 form to please return them to the Parish Office as soon as is convenient. Thank You.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: The first group of Garda vetting applications should now have received their email. Please ensure you log on and complete the online vetting form. Please contact Liam McCabe or Louise Gaskin if you have any queries. Thank you for your cooperation.

BECOMING A CATHOLIC?: Are you or someone you know interested in finding out more about the Christian Faith and the Catholic Church. If so please contact Fr. John after Mass or make enquiries to the Parish Office. We will begin our preparation for Adults wishing to be baptised or indeed make their 1st Communion or be Confirmed in the Catholic Faith at the Easter Vigil next Easter soon during the month of September.
