Back To School Prayer

August 30th, 2017

‘For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come understanding and knowledge’ -Proverbs 2: 8

Prayer

God of my life I welcome this new school year It is your gift to me

This year, Lord Is full of promise and opportunity

Let me waste none of it

This year is full of mystery and the unknown

Help me to face it without fear and anxiety

This year is blessed with beauty and adventure

Make me fully alive to it all.

During this year Keep me thoughtful, prayerful and kind

May I be courteous and helpful to others And not turned in on myself

Keep me from any word or deed That would hurt or belittle or destroy

And may my thoughts, words and actions be pleasing to you Lord.

Lord, bless this day and all the days of this school year

for me and for everyone

Make it a year in which we grow to have the mind of Christ your Son.

Lord Jesus Christ, may we know you more clearly,

love you more dearly and follow you more nearly. Amen

Call for Volunteers to help with Irish Wheelchair Association Collection

August 6th, 2017

IWA was founded in 1960 and is Ireland’s leading representative organisation and service provider for people with physical disabilities. We are a national provider of quality services to people with limited mobility throughout the country. Everything we do is driven by IWA’s vision of an Ireland where people with disabilities can enjoy equal rights, choices and opportunities and live their lives independently.

Our fundraising efforts from last year helped with the purchase of 11 new accessible buses which means that members can travel to and from our centres on a daily basis. This kind of support literally changes lives for people and we strive to continue this enhanced quality of life for our members.

Registration & Preparation for Sacraments of Initiation

August 2nd, 2017

The Sacraments of Christian Initiation are Baptism, Eucharist (Communion) and Confirmation.

Each of these Sacraments require preparation on behalf of the person, their sponsors and their families.

It is policy in the pastoral area of Greystones and Kilquade parishes that all register for each of these Sacraments in advance of the Sacrament. This enables us to:

  • Schedule the appropriate preparation programmes
  • Determine the number of sacramental ceremonies needed
  • Resource these appropriately
  • Keep people informed of activities and events arranged as part of the preparation.
  • Keep in touch with people after the Sacrament itself.

Baptism:

We do not have on-line registration for the Sacrament of Baptism available yet. Please see the following information with respect to Baptism in the parish and contact the parish office on 01-2874025 to arrange a Baptism.
