Changes Impact us in Different Ways

November 14, 2018; 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Proposing change is always a challenge.

We understand that the proposed changes in the Masses impact each of us in different ways.

We will have an open meeting on the evening of Wednesday the 14th Nov. 8pm in Kilian House Family Centre, Greystones, to enable further discussion and clarification on the purpose of the changes in the weekend Mass schedule in the Pastoral Area.

At a Glance …

NEW CHRISTIANS: We welcome Oisín who joined our community through the waters of Baptism shortly. May they continue to grow strong in body, mind and spirit in the years ahead.

PARISH SAFEGUARDING: If anyone engaged in parish ministry has not been recently Garda Vetted can you please pick up a Garda Vetting forms from the Sacristy, Parish office and Parish website.

PASTORAL AREA CHANGES: First Sunday of Advent this year, the 2nd December, we plan to change the weekend Mass schedule in the Pastoral Area. Amalgamating the 11am and the 12:15pm Masses in Holy Rosary into a single Mass with a new time of 11:30am. Moving the Sunday evening 6:30pm from St. Anthony’s in Kilcoole to 6.30pm in Holy Rosary, Greystones. Sunday Mass in Kilcoole will be the 10:30 am Mass in St. Anthony’s, Kilcoole. Full text here.

OPEN MEETING on the evening of Wednesday the 14th Nov. 8pm in Kilian House Family Centre, Greystones, to discuss these changes. All welcome.

FAMILY MASS NEXT SUNDAY 12.15PM  Families preparing for first Communion in 2019 will be taking part in the 12.15pm Mass in Holy Rosary church on next Sunday the 18th November. It will be an interactive style Mass with the flow designed to help all present to engage more fully with it. All are welcome to take part.

NOVEMBER IS A TIME TO REMEMBER: During the month of November we remember and pray for all those who have died. We invite your family members to come together to fill in the November Altar list for your deceased loved ones.

WHAT IS GOD SAYING TO US? An opportunity to read, listen, examine and discuss what the Lord is saying to us in the Sunday Mass Readings. The meeting takes place each Friday from 11am – 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church Kilquade. All Welcome.

ENROLMENT CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: The Parish Schools of St. Brigid’s, St. Kevin’s & St. Laurence’s are open for Junior Infants soon. Application forms for enrolment in the Parish Schools for Junior Infants for September 2019 will be available from Monday 5th November to Friday 16th November 2018.

GAELSCOIL NA GCLOGH LIATH: Enrolment for 2019 will take place, from 5 to 16th November 2018.

BECOMING A CATHOLIC?: Are you or someone you know interested in finding out more about the Christian Faith and the Catholic Church. If so please contact Fr. John after Mass or make enquiries to the Parish Office. We will begin our preparation for Adults wishing to be baptised or indeed make their 1st Communion or be Confirmed in the Catholic Faith at the Easter Vigil next Easter soon during the month of September.

Changes in the Pastoral Area – Message from the PPC

We are a vibrant parish who come together in various ways and various times over the year to celebrate our faith in our living and active God.

The purpose of the changes is to enable us to focus on and develop the liturgies of three specific Sunday Masses in order to include a wider group of participants, including families and youth, while continuing to meet the needs of our existing congregation.

Confirmation Information Meetings

November 6, 2018; 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm.
November 7, 2018; 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm.
November 13, 2018; 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm.

The preparation programme for Confirmation begins with an information meeting for parents.

Information meetings for parents who have registered their child/ren for Confirmation in 2019 are as follows:

  • Tuesday, 6th November: Kilcoole Primary School Hall at 7.30pm
  • Wednesday, 7th November: Kilian House Family Centre, Greystones at 7.30pm
  • Tuesdsy, 13th November: Newtown Primary School Hall at 7:30pm

It is only necessary to attend one meeting at any of the above locations.

Sacrament of First Communion in 2019

Registration for the Sacrament of First Communion in 2019 is now closed as the information meetings for our preparation programme are complete.  We will open registration for preparation for First Communion 2020 in August of 2019.

If you have a child that you believe is now excluded from First Communion in 2019 you need to contact Paul Thornton on 0851259753 to discuss it.

Registration For the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation in 2019

Registration closed for First Communion on 20th October and registration is open for Confirmation until 10th November 2018.
