Archbishop Martin asks that parishes in close proximity to each other should work together and share resources. Numbers of Priests and the age profile of Priests tells us of the need to prepare for the future.

The Greystones and Kilquade parishes have been doing a great deal of work in terms of future planning. The Priests of both parishes work a rota system for celebrating Mass. It is now common practice (since last January) for Kilquade and Greystones Priests to celebrate Mass in each other’s churches.

The Pastoral Councils have a steering committee working for the future. So, change is in the air – sometimes people take a while to get used to change, the Priests themselves take time to adjust to change, Choirs, Readers, Ministers of the Eucharist, Sacristans etc, are also adjusting.

My appointment as Parish Priest to Greystones and Kilquade took effect the first week of September 2011. I look forward to working with Frs Denis and Owen and meeting parishioners as time goes by.
