Music
Music is a very important part of our parish life. We celebrate all aspects of parish life through our music. Indeed to sing is to pray twice.

The aim of the children’s liturgy at the Family Mass is to make the Gospel message more accessible to children. The children and their families are encouraged to take part in the mass through the readings, choir, and offertory procession. The liturgy is prepared by the Family Mass group and it is always presented at the Mass by the children.
“He who sings, prays twice.” Greystones Folk Group strives to enhance the Liturgy through music and song appropriate to the theme of the Mass. Our music ranges from joyful to contemplative to suit different services from Sunday Mass throughout the Liturgical Year to reconciliation services, funerals and celebrations
The choir enables the congregations to appreciate and enjoy the wonderful rich tradition of polyphonic choral music which dates back to monastic times, but which was first documented about the 11th century. The Holy Rosary Choir cherishes and wishes to share with all the congregations this gift, first bestowed on us by our founding Musical Director Dom Brendan Kelly in 1982.

Mass in Irish in Greystones was revived in 1975 by An Doctúir Maedhbh Ní Ghallchobhair with great encouragement from the late Fr. Des O’Sullivan both of whom had a deep love of the Irish language and who felt that Gaeilge should have a place in the liturgy of the parish. They saw music as being central to the spiritual enhancement of the Mass and is de thoradh an dearcadh seo a tháinig an Cór Gaelach ar an saol – and so the Irish choir came into being.
Solstice came to life a few years ago to give people the opportunity to express their faith through song in an alternative way. Our name symbolizes the new beginning, the turning point, the new chance God gives us every day to be his friend.
We are a mixed choir, aged 16 plus though currently the female members are in the majority.
The newly formed St. Kilian’s Choir is under the directorship of Mel Murphy.
We are a two part female choir and we sing at the 6pm Vigil Mass every second Saturday. Our singing the mass is very important to us and we place huge importance on congregational singing. We enjoy the celebration of the Eucharist through music.
